Irven Rule Photography
	Brief Resume Born in Palouse, Washington in 1934. Began my photographic work in 1964. Studied and applied the Zone system in my first Black & White darkroom in the early 1970's. Retired as a corporate trainer in the medical imaging field in 1993 and became a full time nature photographer. Presently do the majority of my photographic work in color using a modified Zone system. Traveled extensively in the past thirteen years doing photograph field trips covering more then eighty thousand miles throughout the United States. HarperPrints selected my photographs for their 1997 and 1998 calendars. My work is now being represented by Blue Moon Gallery in Fresno, California, Art Source in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Douglas Gallery in Spokane, Washington. I am contracted with Picturesque Stock Photo Company in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Reflections and Goals My work as a nature photographer continues to hold me excited about nature and all of her beauty. I have discovered quite frequently that a spectacular showing of nature's wonder is but a fleeting moment. This time-based event only occurs when season, sun or moon, clouds, wind, water, and landscape resonate in perfect harmony. I often experience a rush of adrenaline watching nature rearrange her scenery. During these exciting changes, I am praying that my camera is properly set and positioned to capture this marvelous moment. Then, I'm off again in search of another landscape, with hopeful expectations of once again receiving nature's cooperation. I use archival materials and printing techniques to preserve these images of nature to be enjoyed for years to come.
